Assignment 01: Website Redesign Proposal
- Analyze an existing website to identify key issues in design, functionality, and user experience (UX).
- Critique the current layout, aesthetics, usability, and performance, noting specific areas for improvement.
- Define redesign goals, aligning with target audience needs and enhanced brand representation.
- Propose design solutions through visual concepts and UX enhancements, including wireframes and a mood board.
- Outline technical updates, optimizing for improved performance, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility.
I have chosen Pjobs.club for my redesign project. The current site has an outdated visual style that fails to engage modern audiences. Furthermore, the absence of cohesive design elements makes it appear unprofessional and disjointed, which is unbefitting for a job information site. I believe it holds significant potential for improvement, transforming it into a more attractive and user-friendly platform.
Below is my embedded Canva presentation featuring the analysis of the existing site and my redesign proposal:
Reflection:
From this assignment, I believe I adopted a user-centric design approach. By understanding the target audience's needs—something I frequently discussed with my older sister—and aligning the redesign to address those needs, I deepened my appreciation for how user experience shapes the success of a website. This insight allowed me to set clear objectives for the redesign, focusing on improvements that modernize the visual appeal, enhance brand alignment, and make the site more intuitive and accessible.
Problem-solving also became an essential skill during this process, as I needed to propose practical solutions to the identified issues. Considering UX enhancements such as simplified navigation and better content organization taught me how to develop solutions that promote seamless user interactions.
