Week 12
I've made adjustments to the exterior design of my project based on the constructive feedback I received from Sir Kannan a few weeks ago.

This is the completed look of the exterior of my project. I chose not to add too many details to the smaller towers to keep the focus on the main building. This way, the main building stands out as the centrepiece without competing for attention.

Week 13
I've decided to revise the interior design and set props of my project to more closely resemble the Mayan civilization (since I have more time, I should put in more effort too). This change aims to create an atmosphere that reflects the rich heritage of Mayan culture.
The overall layout of my interior design remains consistent, but I've decided to remove the lion emblem after Sir pointed out that it didn't quite resemble a lion. The focus is on maintaining authenticity throughout the design, keeping the connection to the Mayan civilization strong without the distraction of ambiguous symbols.

Additionally, Sir guided us on developing characteristics and understanding the importance of scale in our drawings. A significant point he made was about including a human silhouette in our drawings. This human element acts as a scale reference, providing a contrast that helps to visually communicate the size and scale of the building to a person. Therefore, I added a warrior figure in a more dynamic pose.

Reflection
I'm struck by the intensity of the effort required to harmonize the components of Project 1 and Project 2, I've been drawing upon a well of art education that's been part of my life since childhood. The art classes and clubs I attended laid a strong foundation in the fundamentals of art and design. Therfore, I recognize the journey has been an intense blending of personal tenacity and external resources. This stage has been arduous, requiring a concerted dedication to the minutiae of my craft, such as the accurate depiction of stone textures and the interplay of light and shadow.
The process has been one of rigorous experimentation, a testament to the iterative nature of design. Despite my strong artistic childhood, my journey took a detour into the rigours of science-based academia. The demands of exams and the specificity of that field meant that, for several years, my art skills were left unpracticed. Returning to art for this module, I've felt the gap left by those years without practice.
To bridge the gap, I turned to modern platforms like YouTube, diving into the vast sea of instructional content. These resources have been a lifeline, reconnecting me with the art world and helping me to sharpen skills that had become blunt with disuse. I've relearned how to create stone textures, not just as I remembered from classes long ago, but with new techniques and digital tools that were not part of my original art education. The process of reacquainting myself with the tactile nature of art through digital means has been both challenging and exhilarating.
Additionally, the insights and instructions from Sir Kannan have been particularly illuminating. The tips he imparted in class have served as beacons as I applied some of them to my work. Each stroke of texture on the stone, each deliberate shading, has been influenced by his wisdom. It's a vivid reminder that art is not just a solitary pursuit but a communal journey, enriched by the shared knowledge and experiences of educators and peers.
Looking forward, I am hopeful that my art will continue to mature, underpinned by the valuable lessons from mentors like him.
