WEEK 1 - 26/09/23
On the first day of class, our lecturer provided an overview of the module, outlining its goals and objectives for the semester. In addition to this introduction, he assigned us a practical task – to explore basic digital drawing techniques using software like Photoshop on our tablets. This hands-on assignment aimed to help us become proficient in controlling strokes and mastering the pressure of our digital pens, setting the stage for our artistic journey throughout the semester. This combination of theory and practice left me eager to delve into digital artistry and fully engage with the course material.

WEEK 2 - 03/10/23
In today's class, our lecturer thoroughly reviewed the drawings we had worked on for our assigned task from the previous week, providing valuable feedback aimed at helping us grasp the fundamentals of simple drawings. Our journey began with the exploration of various strokes, lines, and patterns, and this week, our focus shifted towards mastering different perspectives, including 1-point, 2-point, and 3-point perspectives. During the session, our lecturer introduced us to the crucial elements of screen composition, highlighting the significance of the horizon, middle ground, and foreground in our artwork. Moreover, he elucidated the concept of a vanishing point as the starting point for our perspective drawings, guiding us through the intricate process of creating dynamic and visually engaging perspective illustrations.

WEEK 3 - 10/10/23
Our first assignment began, and our lecturer instructed us to select a theme, civilization, and era and gather relevant references to create a mood board. Alongside this, we were encouraged to brainstorm ideas for the exterior aspect of the project, all contributing to a comprehensive exploration of our chosen topic.

WEEK 4 -17/10/23
In our environmental design class, we were instructed to begin working on one of the initial project prerequisites, which involves practising value sketches. The instructor specifically directed us to locate a straightforward house or shed nestled in a forest setting to identify the lightest and darkest shades more easily.

I've learned that when conducting value studies, it's important to avoid using the colour black since it represents the absolute absence of light. With this newfound understanding, I intend to adjust my approach to the exercise, ensuring that I incorporate this knowledge to enhance the quality of my work.

For my improvement, I utilize tonal shades of blue instead of black. This approach allows me to avoid the starkness of black and adds a sense of depth and tranquillity to my work. I've also noticed that my proportions have become more accurate than they were before. It's encouraging to see progress in my work, and I look forward to continuing to refine my skills and develop my artistic abilities even further.
